Williams & Connolly has once again been named among Law360’s “Health Care Practice Groups of the Year.” The annual series recognizes “the law firms behind the litigation wins and major deals that resonated throughout the legal industry in the past year.” In 2023, Williams & Connolly’s Health Care practice secured a “milestone” jury verdict as lead counsel on behalf of Cardinal Health after a five-week, first-of-its-kind trial in novel litigation brought against drug distributors under the Georgia Drug Dealer Liability Act by family members of individuals who became addicted to opioids; secured a significant dismissal on behalf of CVS in a civil antitrust action filed by the New York Attorney General related to the Company’s offerings in connection with the 340B Drug Pricing Program; and obtained the Ninth Circuit’s affirmance of the team’s trial victory on behalf of CVS in class action litigation related to the company’s Health Savings Pass generic drug membership program.
Led by co-chairs Enu Mainigi and Jennifer Wicht, the firm’s Health Care Fraud practice has established itself as a team that many large health care companies turn to when faced with high-stakes government investigations and litigation. Williams & Connolly has been recognized as a Law360 “Health Care Practice Group of the Year” in six of the last nine years (2015, 2018-2019, 2021-2023).
