Each year, Law360 recognizes attorneys who, according to the publication, “distinguished themselves from their peers by securing hard-earned successes in high-stakes litigation, complex global matters and record-breaking deals.” This year, partners Enu Mainigi and Lisa Blatt were recognized among Law360’s 2019 MVPs.
Enu serves as the Chair of the firm’s False Claims Act and Qui Tam practice and is Co-Chair of the firm’s Health Care practice. She regularly defends health care companies, pharmacy benefit managers, retail pharmacies, hospitals, nursing homes and pharmaceutical companies in high-stakes litigation and government investigations. Her experience representing individuals and corporations in the health care industry includes internal investigations, grand jury probes and other criminal investigations, agency investigations and civil False Claims Act litigation, covering a wide range of issues and statutes, including anti-kickback statutes, the Food Drug and Cosmetic Act, federal and state False Claims Acts, Medicare and Medicaid fraud, and other state and federal statutes. Enu is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.
Lisa serves as Chair of Williams & Connolly’s Supreme Court and Appellate practice. She has argued 37 cases before the United States Supreme Court, prevailing in 34, more than any woman in U.S. history. The National Law Journal has called her a "visionary" and one of "the 100 most influential lawyers in America," and The National Journal has referred to her as a “SCOTUS legend.” Recently, Lisa represented Marvin Gaye’s heirs in their copyright dispute over the hit songs “Got To Give It Up” and “Blurred Lines,” as well as the Washington Redskins football team in its dispute with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office over the team's trademarks.
