Partners Elaine Horn, Krystal Durham, and Liat Rome will speak on panels at the Corporate Counsel Women of Color Annual Conference, which aims to build community and promote diversity, equity and inclusion in the legal profession. The conference will take place October 2-5 at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. General counsel and their legal teams regularly attend the annual conference to learn from DEI change makers, industry leaders, the bench, corporate and legal executives, law firm partners and legal experts, who share their expertise, informed perspective and insightful takeaways.
Elaine will participate on the “Employment Law Trends 2024” panel, which will cover recent developments in the areas of hybrid/remote work policies, pay transparency, and the impact of recent Supreme Court decisions affecting DEI initiatives. Elaine serves as Co-Chair of Williams & Connolly’s Employment Litigation and Employment Counseling practice groups, and represents clients in a broad range of complex civil and commercial litigation matters, with an emphasis in the areas of employment disputes, products liability, and commercial contracts. Her trial experience includes the representation of both defendants and plaintiffs in federal and state court, bankruptcy court, and arbitrations.
Krystal will join the panel “Leadership: Optimizing Your Performance as a Woman of Color Leader.” Krystal focuses her practice on complex civil litigation, white collar defense and investigations, criminal defense, and professional liability matters. She has represented corporations, professional firms, and individuals in disputes spanning a wide variety of issues including professional malpractice, breach of contract, defamation, antitrust, employment, and First Amendment disputes. Her trial experience includes the representation of both defendants and plaintiffs in federal and state court and arbitrations.
Liat will join speakers on the panel “Cultivating Resilience: Strategies for Success as a Women of Color Leader.” Liat handles all types of civil and criminal litigation, at all stages. Her civil practice has covered a broad range of substantive areas, including products liability, environmental and mass tort, consumer fraud, trade secrets, and antitrust litigation. She has litigated high-stakes disputes across a variety of industries, including pharmaceutical medications, medical devices, health care, fire protection, and automotives. Liat also has significant experience in both civil and criminal appellate matters, including arguing before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the Maryland Court of Special Appeals.
