On March 6-8, 2024, Senior Counsel John Buckley and associate Youlin Yuan will speak at the International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution (CPR) Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, PA.
John will be on a panel entitled “The Freedom of Neutrals and Parties to Innovate the ADR Process.” He will discuss how arbitrators and parties can leverage the flexibility of arbitral procedure to make arbitration hearings more efficient, facilitate settlement, and promote better reasoned awards.
John founded the firm’s International Disputes practice and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the College of Commercial Arbitrators. His practice focuses on international and domestic commercial arbitrations and investor-state arbitrations.
Youlin will be on a panel entitled “Freedom or Folly: Is Illegally Obtained Evidence Admissible in an Arbitration Proceeding?.” He will discuss the divergent approaches international arbitral tribunals take in exercising their discretion to admit illegally obtained evidence, and the common themes, doctrines, and factors underlying different approaches.
