Partners Joe Terry and Steve Fuzesi recently were panelists at the American Bar Association’s 27th Annual Conference of the Forum on Communications Law, which brings together a wide range of attorneys and in-house counsel to discuss important issues and recent developments in communications law. Joe’s panel covered key developments and high-profile cases in the areas of libel and privacy. Steve’s panel discussed emerging issues in social media for both publishers and advertisers and explored consumer protection and recent developments in defamation law.
Joe is Co-Chair of Williams & Connolly’s First Amendment & Media practice group. During his twenty-two-year career, Joe has successfully represented media companies, financial services companies, public officials, and accounting and law firms in a wide variety of civil and criminal litigation, including trials and arbitrations.
Steve also serves as Co-Chair of the firm’s First Amendment and Media practice group. His practice focuses on complex civil litigation, frequently involving high-stakes matters, and emphasizes the defense of clients in First Amendment and professional liability litigation. Steve has defended leading news organizations in defamation lawsuits challenging their reporting in print, online, and on television.
