On October 24, 2024, The National Law Journal named Williams & Connolly partner Lisa Blatt “Appellate Attorney of the Year.” The award was announced at The National Law Journal Legal Awards ceremony at the Fairmont Georgetown in Washington, D.C.
Lisa is chair of Williams & Connolly’s Supreme Court and Appellate Litigation practice. During the past two Terms, the firm was lead counsel in 12 merits cases and argued 11 merits cases—a record for any group in private practice. Lisa has argued 51 cases before the U.S. Supreme Court and has an 86% win rate in cases decided.* The National Law Journal has called her a “visionary” and one of “the 100 most influential lawyers in America.” Bloomberg has described her as a “legendary high court litigator” while The National Journal likewise has referred to her as a “SCOTUS legend.” In 2021, The American Lawyer recognized Lisa as “Litigator of the Year.” Lisa’s industry-influencing victories have helped shape the legal landscape in areas as diverse as trademark, copyright, administrative law, product liability, environmental law, and commercial law.
