Williams & Connolly LLP is pleased to announce the election of Sean M. Douglass, Kylie Hoover, Kathryn S. Kayali, J. Liat Rome, and Eden Schiffmann to its partnership, effective January 1, 2024.

The five new partners are:
Sean M. Douglass - Sean focuses on civil litigation, trial work, and First Amendment and media law. He represents companies and individuals in high-stakes matters and has appeared in state and federal courts across the country. Sean has experience with all aspects of litigation, including early-stage strategies, discovery, dispositive motions, and trial.
Kylie Hoover - Kylie focuses her practice on complex civil litigation, government and internal investigations, and trial work. She has represented clients—both corporations and individuals—in a variety of commercial, regulatory, and investigative matters, involving issues of criminal and civil antitrust, fraud, consumer protection, contract, and labor and employment law. Kylie has represented clients at all stages of litigation and has been a member of several trial teams.
Kathryn S. Kayali – Kathryn’s practice is focused on patent litigation, particularly in the pharmaceutical sector, and her experience includes litigation concerning both small-molecule and biologic drugs. She has experience handling pharmaceutical patent cases at every stage of litigation, from complaint through trial.
J. Liat Rome - Liat handles all types of civil and criminal litigation, at all stages. Her civil practice has covered a broad range of substantive areas, including products liability, environmental and mass tort, consumer fraud, trade secrets, and antitrust litigation. She has litigated high-stakes disputes across a variety of industries, including pharmaceutical medications, medical devices, health care, fire protection, and automotives. Liat also has significant experience in both civil and criminal appellate matters, including arguing before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the Maryland Court of Special Appeals.
Eden Schiffmann – Eden handles complex civil litigation, investigations, and criminal defense. He has represented companies and individuals at all stages of their cases, from pre-suit negotiation through discovery, trial, and appeal. He has tried cases before judges, juries, and arbitrators.
