The Washingtonian has named partner Lisa Blatt to its 2023 list of the “Most Powerful Women in Washington,” a designation Lisa has received every year since Washingtonian’s inaugural list in 2011. According to the publication, this year’s edition recognizes 169 of the Washington, D.C. region’s most influential women in business, law, government, education, media, nonprofits, and the arts, who “define the agenda and determine the course of action in their enterprises.”
Lisa serves as Chair of Williams & Connolly’s Supreme Court and Appellate Litigation practice. She has argued 46 cases before the United States Supreme Court, prevailing in 41, an 89%-win rate.* Lisa was named “Litigator of the Year” in 2021 by The American Lawyer and is consistently listed among the “Top 10 Female Litigators” in the U.S. by Benchmark Litigation. Earlier this year, Chambers USA named Lisa among six “Star Individuals” in Appellate Law for 2023, the publication’s highest honor for this category. According to Chambers, clients report that Lisa “continues to be a legendary advocate. She prepares incredibly hard for every single one of her cases and she hates to lose.” Another client echoed: “[I]t’s hard to match her track record in won cases, it’s mind-blowing in how good she is.” Lisa’s industry-influencing victories have helped shape the legal landscape in areas as diverse as trademark, copyright, administrative law, product liability, environmental law, and commercial law.
