Williams & Connolly partner Bob Van Kirk has been named as a finalist for Benchmark Litigation’s 2023 “General Commercial Litigator of the Year” award, along with the firm’s Commercial Litigation practice. Bob serves as co-chair of the firm’s Commercial Litigation practice, which is consistently recognized as a go-to firm for bet-the-company disputes by leading publications including Chambers, where it has been ranked in Band 1 for over a decade. Bob focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation. He has argued successfully at every level of the federal judicial system, including the United States Supreme Court, and appears in federal and state appellate and trial courts across the country representing both corporate and individual clients in complex commercial litigation, internal and government investigations, and congressional inquiries. Most recently, Bob and his team represented his clients The Carlyle Group, one of its investment funds, and two fund executives in a complete victory ending a decade-long dispute related to the fund’s acquisition of a privately-held water system in Missoula, Montana.
