The National Veterans Legal Services Program (“NVLSP”) has honored partner Liam Montgomery with its NVLSP 2022 Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award. The award recognizes outstanding pro bono service to veterans across the nation through NVLSP’s Lawyers Serving Warriors® pro bono program. According to NVLSP, honorees consistently demonstrate excellence and a deep commitment to pro bono representation on behalf of our nation’s veterans through systemic advocacy with amicus briefs and by placing NVLSP referred cases with lawyers within the firm.
“NVLSP and veterans across the nation have benefitted from [Liam’s] dedication to pro bono work. We are thrilled to award [Liam] the NVLSP Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award for 2022,” NVLSP said in a statement.
An eleven-year veteran of United States Naval Aviation, Liam Montgomery zealously advocates for clients large and small. He focuses on complex civil trials, principally in matters relating to environmental law, life sciences, and financial and actuarial services. In 2022, Liam was recognized as a finalist for Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year by Chambers. Selected to the Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll every year since 2011, Liam’s pro bono practice concentrates on veterans’ causes and advocating for victims of crime. He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Network for Victim Recovery of DC, a non-profit that provides free legal and social services to the victims of crimes. He is also an active member of the firm’s Pro Bono and Diversity and Inclusion Committees.
