On April 5, 2022, Williams & Connolly’s Antitrust practice was recognized at the Global Competition Review’s (“GCR”) 12th Annual Awards, which honored the world’s leading antitrust lawyers, economists, and enforcers, as well as the biggest cases of 2021.
Williams & Connolly was one of a few firms to receive an award for “Behavioural Matter of the Year for the Americas” for the firm’s work as lead counsel for Google in the antitrust enforcement actions brought by the U.S. Department of Justice and various State Attorneys General accusing the company of maintaining an illegal monopoly over internet search and search advertising. John Schmidtlein, co-head of the firm’s Antitrust practice, is lead counsel in these matters.
