On November 9, 2021, The National Law Journal featured the Williams & Connolly appellate team in its “Supreme Court Brief.” The article highlights the team’s four arguments before the Supreme Court last Term, which saw the debuts of partners Amy Saharia and Sarah Harris before the Court. The article also highlights the scope of appellate work handled by the firm across practitioners and how this distinguishes our practice from that of many other firms. “[I]t takes effort and commitment by the firm and the person in charge to convince clients to trust someone else,” said practice chair Lisa Blatt, adding: “I like the limelight as much as the next person, but I don't need to argue all the time. [Williams & Connolly] is full of talented people. How hard is it to get out of their way?” The article also discusses the appellate team’s cases scheduled for argument this Term, including Badgerow v. Walters, which Lisa argued on November 2, as well as their recent grants in Concepcion v. United States and Egbert v. Boule.
