Williams & Connolly filed an amicus brief on behalf of the National Veterans Legal Services Program (NVLSP) and Protect Our Defenders (POD) before the U.S Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in the case of Robert J. Labonte, Jr. v. United States. The brief urges the court to reverse a decision that restricts the authority of Boards for Correction of Military Records to correct the records of veterans discharged by court-martial. The brief argues that the trial court’s decision will disproportionately impact veterans discharged as a result of misconduct following traumatic brain injury, PTSD, or military sexual assault.
The team representing NVLSP and POD included partner Liam Montgomery and associates Amy McKinlay and Miranda Petersen.
