Senior Counsel John Buckley was recently named “Partner of the Year” by the International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution (CPR) at the 2021 Annual Meeting. The CPR Partner of the Year Award, a newly created honor, recognizes an outstanding volunteer in CPR’s work, and John was named as the inaugural recipient for his service as Chair on the Fast Track Rules Committee, Model Concurrent Mediation Clause, and Model Delegation Clause Task Forces, as well as his service on the Construction Rules Committee and CPR Council and his overall support of CPR. Senior Counsel since 2018, John Buckley focuses his practice on domestic and international commercial arbitration and investor-state arbitration. John has been lead counsel in cases administered under the AAA/ICDR, ICC, ICSID and HKIAC rules. He is the founder and former head of the firm’s international arbitration practice group. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, he has served as chair, co-arbitrator, or sole arbitrator in AAA, CPR, ICC and ICDR administered arbitrations and in ad hoc arbitration.
