Partner Katie Trefz has been recognized as a Law360 2020 Rising Star for the White Collar category.  After receiving more than 1,300 nominations, Law360 selected 4-6 honorees from each practice area, all under the age of 40, whose “legal accomplishments transcend their age.”

Katie spoke with Law360 to discuss her notable cases, motivations and what led her to white collar defense work.  For Katie, defending the constitutional rights of her clients is what drives her; “this is a human being who’s entrusting our team with their freedom […] we’re not going to be outworked by anybody.”     

Katie focuses her practice on criminal defense and government and internal investigations.  Katie’s work for corporations and senior executives has involved a wide array of substantive allegations, including securities fraud, mail and wire fraud, antitrust crimes, violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), money laundering, tax fraud, and violation of the False Claims Act (FCA), among others.
