Williams & Connolly has been named to The National Law Journal’s 2019 “Appellate Hot List.” The list features 25 honorees, described as “an elite group of lawyers and law firms that posted hard-fought wins at the Supreme Court or in federal circuit courts.” During 2018-2019, the firm secured five wins before the U.S. Supreme Court, and represented the prevailing parties in some of the most significant matters before the United States Courts of Appeals. Many of these victories were led by Lisa Blatt, one of the nation’s premier appellate advocates, who rejoined the firm in January 2019; Amy Saharia, who clerked for Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor; and Sarah Harris, the firm’s third lateral partner in the last 40 years. Sarah joined the firm earlier this year from the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel, and previously clerked for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
