Williams & Connolly announced today that partner Dane Butswinkas will resume practicing law with the firm this month. Mr. Butswinkas has spent the past several months assisting Elon Musk and Tesla, Inc., first as outside counsel and most recently as General Counsel. “We are delighted that Dane is resuming practice with us on a full-time basis. He is an immensely talented litigator and trial lawyer, who is – and always will be – an integral part of our Williams & Connolly family,” said Joe Petrosinelli, chair of the firm’s Executive Committee.
Mr. Butswinkas, a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers, is routinely on the short-lists of GCs throughout the country for high-stakes litigation of all kinds. “When it comes to trials, he’s the real deal, with unparalleled competitive drive and strategic instincts,” according to friend and Managing Partner, Hack Wiegmann. Mr. Butswinkas commented, “If home is where the heart is, then Williams & Connolly has always been my home. I’m grateful to the firm for its continuous support, and I now look forward to resuming my trial practice with my colleagues, clients, and long-time friends.”
