Steve Wohlgemuth represents clients in a range of complex civil and criminal matters, including corporate disputes, financial services litigation, professional liability matters, and breach-of-contract and business tort cases.  Steve is the Co-Chair of the firm’s Bankruptcy Litigation practice group and has, in recent years, increasingly focused on bankruptcy-related litigation, including representing clients in fraudulent transfer cases and other high-stakes bankruptcy disputes.  Steve has particular experience in matters involving complex financial and valuation issues.

Steve has handled cases in state and federal courts across the country.  His experience includes a six-month bankruptcy trial relating to a liability management transaction, as well as representing a cryptocurrency investor in a fraudulent transfer case related to a now-bankrupt cryptocurrency trading platform.  In criminal defense, Steve has represented clients in a range of matters, including a one-week federal trial defending an insurance agent accused of fraud and money laundering, defending a client in a first-degree murder case, and other cases involving alleged mail fraud, wire fraud, and false statements.

Born and raised in Missouri, Steve received his B.A. from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 2008 and his J.D. from Cornell Law School, where he served as Articles Editor for The Cornell Law Review.  After law school, he clerked for Judge Patty Shwartz of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
