James represents clients in a range of civil and criminal matters. In his criminal practice, James has represented individuals and entities during government investigations and post-indictment proceedings. His civil practice has covered many subject-matter areas, including professional malpractice, products liability, trade secrets, and the Federal False Claims Act. James has appeared before a number of state and federal trial courts and courts of appeal.
Before joining Williams & Connolly, James was a law clerk for Judge Rudolph Contreras in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. James graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as a notes editor on the Georgetown Law Journal and a member of the moot court team.
