Partner Deneen Howell recently represented Newberry Medalist Kwame Alexander in a multi-book deal with Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. Little, Brown prevailed in a five-house auction to acquire world rights to Alexander’s upcoming middle grade trilogy and a book of poems for adults. Kwame Alexander is a poet, educator, and New York Times bestselling author of 35 books, including the Newbery medal-winning middle grade novel, The Crossover, which was sold over 1 million copies; Swing, Becoming Muhammad Ali, co-authored with James Patterson; Booked, which was longlisted for the National Book Award; Rebound, which was shortlisted for the prestigious UK Carnegie Medal; and the Caldecott Medal and Newbery Honor-winning picture book, The Undefeated, illustrated by Kadir Nelson.
Deneen regularly advises fiction authors, including Alex Berenson, Mary Higgins Clark, Khaled Hosseini, and James Patterson, in negotiating publishing agreements.
